Hey Bernd

Did you use the Edcor XSM10K/600 on the outputs? If so can you tell us the mod required for using those? These edcors are super cheap here in the US.

What is this jensen mod I keep hearing about? Is that recommended for the edcors too?

Frank, I am going to be using other transformers on mine simply since I have some already. Input = UTC A18 Output = UTC A26 On my Drip version I used : Input = UTC A24 (backwards) Output = Triad HS-52 I really like the sound of my Drip unit. So I think the Dual LA2A should turn out good with these t...

Geesh I have to learn German eh.

Nice work !

I have to redesign my front panel now. I like yours better!
Strange to see that the tubes really make that much difference too. Thanks for debugging that for the rest of us. I'll have to look for some Telefunkens as well.

I am doing a little research into the power supply: Trying to figure out the max-min VAC transfomer I can use. Here are 2 schematics of it : http://www.pillarsofnein.com/diy_projects/LA2A_Mono/Resources/la2_power_supply.jpg http://www.pillarsofnein.com/diy_projects/LA2A_Mono/Resources/la2_power_supp...

The transformer I picked out is 250-0-250 / 6.3 @ 3A / 12.6 @ 2A Hopefully the 6.3 @ 3A will be enough to heat up all the tubes? The 12.6 will be the source for the 5VDC circuit. The LM7805 input range is 5-18V for a fixed 5VDC output, so it should work fine. Found it here : http://www.toroid-transf...

Hey Volker,

Why do we need 2x6.3 supplies? Can't I just run all the heaters together?

Volker, I have 4 older Mallory Caps (silver cans) that someone gave to me for free. Send me you address and I will mail you 2 of them! I will use the other two on mine. I measured them with my Fluke MM and 2 came out as ~13uF and the other 2 came out as ~12uF so I will pair them up that way. Not sur...

Why did you go with the Solen 10uF caps instead of the TC72 Mallory? Did you get a chance to compare the two? Starting my BOM. HEy if anyone is interested I have finished sourcing the parts# for the Caps in North America. (Mouser and PartsConnexion) Still can't believe we can get by with 1/4W resist...

Hey thanks for the link!

This is a great tutorial for "Old school" tube design steps.
I haven't finished reading it yet but already I am impressed with how they explain some things.

Scroll Down to Drips reply on why he does not offer Kits for these T4Bs
Has to do with the cells and the number of rejects there are when testing.

Much respect to drip and all his hard work...
Sorry.

Iron: UTC A10 etc...
